Do you struggle with managing your utility bills and household admin?

I have two sons and their families permanently resident in the US and so have a reasonable insight into how family economies work on both sides of the pond. I do not think monitoring bills is any more or less difficult than in the US. Some things are easier in the UK like car insurance where if you buy a comprehensive policy, basically you pay one premium for all aspects that need to be covered whereas in the US you seem to have to buy umpteen different parts. Healthcare is free so if you have a problem you just turn up at the Doc or hospital. No messing with insurance forms or worrying about whether you are covered. Buying things seems easier in the US - you turn up at a garage, buy a car and drive it away. In the UK, buy a new car and you will wait at least a week after parting with your money, sometimes longer if it has to be ordered up to your spec. The internet makes monitoring bills for the likes of utilities easy including shopping around for the best price. I am guessing that's pretty much the same in both countries. Overall, I dont see the UK as any more difficult than the US overall
