Do we have to submit ta utility bill for getting Tier 2 dependent?
This is something that confused me too. The UK, unlike most countries, does not have a central registry that registers where people live. Instead of getting a registry extract to prove your address, you basically need to make it plausible that you live in the property. To do that, you need to get a scattering of paperwork that amounts to proof that you live where you say you live. What exactly will be accepted as sufficient proof depends on the mood of the immigration officer / home office, and/or the phase of the moon. Generally considered sufficient is a combination of: any utility bill (water, gas, electricity, landline phone) council tax bill Additional proof could be: bank accounts registered on this address credit card bills registered on this address letters from the council doctor/hospital appointment letters being registered on the electoral roll Any of these should have your name on it, or better, both. The tenancy agreement is not generally proof that you actually live in the property (yet).
