What appliance around the house accounts for a large portion of my?
ORIGINAL QUESTION: What appliance around the house accounts for a large portion of my utility bill? Youve given us no clue as to what appliances you have or how long or how often you run them so, its difficult to say. From my own experience, if youre running air conditioners or a heat pump, thats going to pull a lot of amps. That means, big utility bill. If you keep your house at 80 degrees F in the winter and 60 degrees in the summer, thats going to run up the bill. Most appliances have a placard attached to the housing that states how many amps and/or watts they use. Just comparing the numbers from one appliance to the next should give you a rough idea of what it costs to run them.
