Should tax payers and rate payers pay for the failure of Texas Energy?

I dont really care WHO pays the bill, so long as the feds dont give them one thin dime. They wanted a deregulated grid, and didnt want to take the steps to connect to neighboring utilities because they hated fed involvement. This is the downside now of that sweet, cheap, fed-free power. So now, let the state of Texas take care of its citizens for a change instead of figuring out ways to rip them off to feed the rich in their state. They put their people in this hole, and they should damn well figure out how to get their people out, without help from the feds. Maybe if they have to pay this, and the state has some egg on their face because of it and some leaders lose their power, theyll come to their senses and elect leaders who will make sure ERCOT operates like sane grid owners/operators do every day-make sure the grid can operate during bad weather and other adverse conditions when told they have a problem, and SPEND THE MONEY to make that happen. Oh, and guys? Really? You signed contracts that could charge you $9/kWh? What the hell is the matter with you people? There is NO utility that charges anything close to that, even in socialist, fed-loving California. Even PG&E, the bane of the heart of Northern California socialism/communism, isnt that parasitic (in large part because we have a functioning PUC). Shit, even Enron, with all their slick crooks, wasnt able to figure out how to get $9,000Mwhat the height of their little game, power rates were only about $600$700/Mwh, and people went to jail for that. I cant believe such a contract is even enforceable, that is just outright theft. If it is enforceable, you have a LOT more work to fix your state than I thought.
