How can landlords reduce utility bills?
I have been a landlord for 33 years. Tenants, not landlords, can reduce utility bills. Keep the thermostat set at a reasonable level, keep windows and storm sashes closed in cold weather. Keep thermostat on water heater under 120 degrees (hot setting). Don't cover up the cold air returns with furniture or laundry hampers. Tell landlord about a dripping faucet or a running toilet. How would a landlord be able to reduce utility Bill's when it is tenant behavior that results in high utility bills.
