How can I monetize the energy I save at home on top of saving on?
Not possible - you are trying to count the same saving twice. I am hungry, and plan to eat two burgers. Then I think - That is an extravagant waste, I can surely make do with only one. So I order one burger, pay for it, and eat it. The other burger now sits, unsold, uncooked even, in the shop, awaiting another customer. But, although saved from my maw, this second, unbought and unpaid for burger is not mine in any sense - so I cannot expect to monetise that saving - the burger not bought, like the electic current not sucked through the meter, is saved from my budget, but not thereby in any way to my credit. Look, I just failed to/refained from/did not buy a tanker load of oil now being discharged at the oil terminal in Rotterdam: does that mean I have some claim on the value of two hundred thousandtaons of crude oil ? Most of the transactions in the world today did not have me as the purchaser - have I saved a lot of money ? A Rembrandt has been auctioned - and I did not bid: so I saved my bank account from possible large calls that it could not have withstood. Do I expect to receive a few million dollars for refraineng fri bidding ? Should I ? What are you seeking to monetize ? Your utility bill is less. That is ALL the saving you can hope for.
