Yes, and I protested to the electric company. They informed me that the bill was the result of the Christmas lights I had on. I told them as I didn't put up my tree until the 19th that wouldn't be true. Then they came out with the truth, they averaged the bill out from what everyone was charged in my area the year prior and raised the price 20%. I told them to read the meter instead and they told me it would cost me $25 extra dollars. That was a lot of money for a single parent who had no child support. The next month it was way down because they actually read the meter.
